SEGA is a Japanese video game developer and publisher that was Nintendo's main business rival in the 1980's and 1990's. Their mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, has appeared in various Mario games following SEGA's departure from the console-making industry and they have developed several games in the series as well, most notably the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series.
