Konami is a Japanese video game developer and publisher that is most well-known for the creation of the Metal Gear Solid series, whose main protagonist, Solid Snake, has appeared in several Mario-related games. They have developed a handful of games in the Mario series and are also the parent company of Hudson Soft, whom they purchased in 2012.
